Sustainability

From Encyc

Sustainability is a goofball political catchphrase that will someday be seen as totally 2010.

Usually when politicians talk about sustainable they mean redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the poor. Basically they mean that it's ok for them to use resources, but not for anyone else to. They use the word to support busybody government policies like banning incandescent light bulbs, while they jet around the world having meetings with other plutocrats, eating expensive dinners, and cheating on their spouses.

Another use is so-called "financial sustainability", which means making minor, temporary cuts in government spending while at the same time implementing draconian tax hikes that will never go away.
