Interesting suggestion.

Having the Public account has actually worked out pretty well. A lot of people value privacy and we've gotten some good contributions from them. Allowing IP editing would perhaps be better but would be too much work to monitor. Auggie (talk) 14:29, 27 March 2018 (CDT)

In my opinion, locking down account creation is the worst of bad ideas. There is hardly any vandalism here anyway and it when it does happen, it's maybe a handful of times a year. There's no reason to let everyone suffer for the actions of maybe a couple of people (at most) with nothing better to do with their time. I don't see this as a serious problem. Suggesting that "we keep letting him (the NEDM vandal) mess up our pages" implies that it's a more frequent thing than it actually is. Alexander (talk) 08:30, 15 April 2018 (CDT)
