Television

From Encyc

Television is a form of communication. It has had a great impact on society since its invention and it's one of the most popular methods to spend some time.

Television sets consist of a display panel and a speaker, a signal receiver or tuner, a power source, and other components. In the past they were based around cathode ray tubes, or picture tubes. More recently plasma, LCD, and LED panels have become more prevalent.

Most commercial television stations in the United States are controlled by four corporate conglomerates, and many feel that this is simply a monopolization of the mass media by the corporate establishment.
