The Anomaly is a faceless anonymous surrealist artist and poet. Renowned for technical skill, and striking and bizarre images, the artist is known for blending dark surrealism with dreamcore. The artist is also known for depictions of familiar objects in unfamiliar, unexpected contexts, which often provoked questions about the nature and boundaries of reality and representation. The dark imagery in the portraits have influenced pop art, minimalist art, and conceptual art. Widely regarded as a "mysterious figure" in the art world, the artist has crafted around 600 horror portraits since 2019. The artist is inspired by surrealist artists including Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Edvard Munch, and Joan Miró. Founder of the "dreamcore" art movement, the term first became prominent during the early 2020s.[1][2][3][4]
