The Wire was an HBO drama series about narcotics police officers, drug dealers, and drug addicts in 2000s Baltimore, Maryland. It was created by David Simon, a reporter for the Baltimore Sun who also created the NBC series Homicide: Life on the Street. Later seasons included more politicians and political storylines.

Characters[edit]

  • McNulty - Police officer, often in trouble with his superiors. Other cops joke about his negligible Irish ancestry.
  • Omar - Gay drug dealer who battles the main cartel
  • Bubbles - Drug addict
  • Clay Davis - Politician known for his catchphrase, "shiiiiiiiit".
