The beautiful people
The beautiful people is a song performed by Marilyn Manson, and is regarded as one of his best and most original songs. Manson also wrote the lyrics; the music was by Twiggy Ramirez. It was written in 1995 and included in his live performances. It was released as a single in September, 1996, and later included on his second full-length album, Antichrist Superstar.
The lyrics begin:
- And I don't want ya, and I don't need ya,
- Don't bother to resist, or I'll beat ya,
- It's not your fault that you're always wrong,
- The weak ones are there, justify the strong,
- The beautiful people, the beautiful people.
It has been translated into several languages, notably Spanish:
- Y yo no te quiero y yo no te necesito,
- No te molestes en resistir, o te golpearé,
- No es tu culpa el estar siempre equivocado,
- Los débiles están ahí para justificar a los fuertes,
- La gente hermosa, la gente guapa.
