Toluene

From Encyc

Toluene or methylbenzene is an aromatic hydrocarbon. It is liquid at room temperature (specific gravity 0.865) and is colourless and sweet-smelling. It is widely used as a solvent, for example for spray paint and strong glues.

Its melting point is -95° and boiling point: 111°C. Its vapour is highly flammable.

Smelling toluene can cause euphoria or a "buzz" or "high". It is the main contributor to the effect of "glue sniffing". Exposure to high levels of toluene can have serious ill effects including brain damage and death.
