Trans-Neptunian object

From Encyc

In Astronomy the term Trans-Neptunian object is used to refer to a body which orbits Sol, our sun, outside the orbit of Planet Neptune.

Pluto was the first Trans-Neptunian object to be discovered, and it was classified as a planet until 2006.

Objects in the Kuiper belt are classified as such, and so are those in the Oort cloud.
