Trump mobile

February 2026 pre-production prototype of the T1 Trump phone.

The firm Trump mobile promised to produce a "Made-in-the-USA" cell phone.[1] President Donald Trump agreed to have the phones use his name. They were to be in his signature gold color. Supporters were encouraged to prepay for their phones.

Commentators questioned what the promise that the phone would be made in America meant, when all other phones rely on chips made in Asia.[2]

Potential buyers were promised the phones would roll out in August, 2025.[2] They would pay $47.45 per month, a fee reflecting that President Trump was the 45th and 47th President. In addition to phone service subscribers were promised a service that would allow them to connect to and receive medical advice, from medical doctors, at no additional cost. The phones were promised to cost $499 USD, and would offer competitive performance to Apple's premier phones.

In May 2026, eight months after the promised release date, the design of the phone had still not been finalized.[3] CNET reported that the "made in the USA" claim had been tacitly retired, and the firm currently claimed the phone would be "designed with American values in mind".[4]

As of August 2026 reviewers have received phones.[5] There are reports some customers have received phones. There are reports angry Trump supporters are furiously demanding the return of their deposits.

When the Trump Organization launched a mobile phone service last June, it was supposed to be a stage setter for a new smartphone bathed in gold with a $500 price tag — a bargain compared to Apple's latest iPhone models that sell for anywhere from $800 to $1,200. The newly formed Trump Mobile targeted its T1 phone for an August or September release.

But when it became obvious that domestic large-scale smartphone manufacturing would not be possible, Trump Mobile dropped the 'made in the US' claim. Now, the site simply said it is 'designed with American values in mind,' an 'American-proud design' and 'shaped by American innovation.'
