Watermark (digital)

Some intellectual content, when rendered into an image, a video, or audio content, or a plain old document, has an identifier embedded into it, called a watermark.

The bugs embedded into some television broadcast, is a form of watermark. Other kinds of watermarks aren't visible, and can only be detected with special software tools.
