WikiQuote is a wiki that is part of the Wikimedia foundation empire, the most prominent of which is Wikipedia. Like Wikipedia and the other projects, Wikiquote is written in a variety of languages, although the most commonly used variation is in English.

WikiQuote's role is to gather quotes from various famous people, which can then be used in other Wikimedia projects, primarily Wikipedia.
