Wikifeudalism

Wikifeudalism is a wiki governance style where power resides in an unelected executive (king), which he then delegates out to subordinates in various topic areas (fiefs). Those leaders can then manage their areas of interest as they see fit.
It has never been tried on a large scale, free wiki encyclopedia, as far as we know. Wikipedians jokingly referred to Jimbo as a "God-King" early on in the history of Wikipedia. User groups with advanced privileges on that platform included administrators, bureaucrats, and developers (who worked for the WMF and had access to the database). But the content was never formally divided up between elite power users with their own spheres of influence.
