William H. Warner
William H. Warner was a lake freighter, launched on April 21, 1923.[1] She was built by American Ship Building of Lorain Ohio, for Panda Steamship Company.[2] Her design was based on that of the J. Pierpont Morgan, the first of the "600 footers".[3]
She was sold to International Harvester in 1933, and renamed The International in 1934.[2]
Her boilers were converted to oil, from coal, in 1950.[2]
She was sold to Envirodyne in 1977, and renamed Maxine.[2]
She was acquired by Pierson Steamships Ltd in 1981, and renamed the J. F. Vaughn, only to be acquired by P. & H. Shipping Ltd. and renamed Oakglen.[2]
In October 1988 she was towed to a shipbreaker, in Turkey.[2]
