In Astronomy the term yellow dwarf star refers to hydrogen fusing stars, on the main sequence, that are similar to Sol, our sun. Their mass can be from 1.15 times that of Sol, to 0.9 times the mass of Sol. Their lifespans range from 8 to 13 billion years.
Stars more massive than Yellow dwarf stars are classified as subgiant stars. Stars less massive than yellow dwarf stars are classified as orange dwarf stars, with expected lifespans of 15 to 45 billion years.
