Aberhafesp
Appearance

Aberhafesp, also spelt Aberhafesb in Welsh, is a village and former parish in Powys, Wales. It was in the historic county of Montgomeryshire and is near Newtown.[1]
The church is dedicated to St Gwynog, and was rebuilt in 1857.[2]
Aberhafesp was first documented in 1254 as Aberafh’, though this name appears to have referred to the church rather than the village. The form Aberhauesp first appeared in 1330. It means "mouth of the Hafesp", referring to the Aberhafesp Brook.[2]
