African Great Lakes
Appearance

There are a group of very large lakes in East Africa known as the African Great Lakes.[1] The lakes are all found in the African rift valley.[2]

The lakes support extensive biodiversity. For example, there are thousands of ciclid fish species present. In recent years they have come under pressure from invasive species such as tilapia, native to Egypt.
