United Nations
The United Nations is an alliance created in the wake of World War II that gave equal power to the 5 victors (United States of America, France, Great Britain, China and Russia). It has subsequently become known as the world's police force, as virtually every country in the world has joined it.
The General Assembly includes all member nations and some observer entities. The Security Council consists of the five permanent members and a slightly larger number of temporary members. The five permanent members hold veto power.
The United Nations also runs humanitarian and cultural groups, though these are notorious for their corruption and politicization.
The United Nations maintains a lightly armed force consisting of "peacekeepers", though they have a mixed record of actually keeping peace. Mainly the UN peacekeepers are known for corruption and for abusing the local communities where they are housed. In the event they are actually needed, UN Peacekeepers usually flee in the face of an armed aggressor. In this manner large massacres of civilians were allowed to happen in Rwanda and Bosnia.
