Anatolia

Anatolia is a region of Turkey, corresponding with Asia Minor. It is a peninsula that separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Black Sea.

Historically populated by Greeks, Kurds, and Armenians, it was gradually conquered by the Turks starting around the 11th century.
