Annie Altman is the sister of Sam Altman a leading tech entrepenuer in the field of artificial intelligence.[1]

Altman is a graduate from Tufts University, class of 2015.[2] In a profile of her family Business Insider reported she described herself as an artist and entertainer.

In 2025 reporting emerged that she was suing him, for abusive behavior, that started when they were children.[1][3][4][5][6]

Those reports generated controversy.[1]

Earlier reporting touched on the tension between the siblings.[7]

Altman has a YouTube channel, with close to 200 videos. They include cover songs, like "Hey Sad Scared Tech Bros", which she sings to the tune of "Hey there Delilah", which starts with a biting criticism of high-tech capitalism, like her brothers, and which, in later verses, specifically targets her brothers.[8]

The rest of her family has attributed her accusations to mental health issues.[9][10]

The The New York Times, quoting her lawyer, said she filed the lawsuit just prior to her 31st birthday, as Missouri law gives victims ten years to file lawsuits of this kind, after their 21st birthday.[10] Her lawyer said the damages she requested -- $75,000 -- was the minimum required for a federal suit of this kind.
