Athabasca River

From Encyc
Athabasca Glacier on the Columbia Icefield, is the source of the Athabasca.

The Athabasca River is the longest river in Alberta. It is a wild, undammed river, that flows from the Rocky Mountains, northeast to Lake Athabasca.

It flows throw the Athabasca Tar Sands, which puts the river's water quality at risk, as extracting raw petroleum from tar sands consumes two barrels of water for every barrel of petroleum.
