Activists, who oppose immigration, use the term "anchor babies", claiming that some pregnant women arrange to visit the United State when they are about to give birth, so that their child will be an American citizen. These activists claim it is common for mothers, who aren't citizens, to use their babies' citizenship to stay in the United States.
