Bosnia-Herzegovina is a country in the northwestern Balkans. It was part of Yugoslavia, and before that Austria-Hungary. It is a mainly Muslim area, surrounded by Catholics in Croatia and Eastern Orthodox in Serbia. The area was also controlled by the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years. The capital of the country is Sarajevo.
