Breakfast
Breakfast is the first meal of the day, literally to break one's fast after not eating overnight.
It is claimed that a substantial breakfast before starting school or work will improve performance in the morning. It can also reduce over-eating later in the day, hence be helpful in controlling weight as part of a sensible diet.
A full English breakfast is a very substantial meal, often including fried eggs, baked beans, cereal, toast and other courses.
