Bulletproofing

From Encyc

Bulletproofing means creating or rendering something capable of resisting bullets or objects travelling at a high speed (like shrapnel shards) and avoiding being punctured by them.

Bullet resistant materials are often rigid, but may also be supple. Kevlar, Lexan, and carbon fiber are composite materials, while steel and titanium are simple.

Bullet resistant materials are often employed in law enforcement and military applications, to protect officers from risks of injury or death.
