Buttington

Buttington is a village and former parish in Powys, Wales. It was in the historic county of Montgomeryshire and is near Welshpool.[1] In Welsh the village is named Tal-y-bont.
The place is best known as the site of the Battle of Buttington in the late 9th century. The former parish was made up of three townships (from north to south): Trewern, Cletterwood, and Hope.[1]
All Saints' Church has some medieval masonry, perhaps dating back to the 14th century. Other parts of the church are thought to date to the 15th and 17th centuries. The church is a Grade I listed building. The village also has two Grade II listed buildings: The Vicarage (dates back to the 19th century), and the Green Dragon (dates back to the early 18th century or perhaps earlier).[2]
