Well, okay, sports like Judo are sports. Arguably, even things like mixed martial arts are sports. But jujutsu, kung fu, and most other martial arts are serious business, not sports. My understanding is that Jujutsu predates judo. My understanding is that jujutsu was only practiced by the warrior class, and only for the serious business of stunning, incapacitating, crippling or killing enemies. My understanding is that when social changes sidelined the former warrior class, smarty-pants Jigoro Kano sanitized jujutsu, made it non-lethal, to create the sport of judo. That's why judo does not contain punches and kicks, and jujutsu does.
So, judo belongs in Category:Sport -- and jujutsu doesn't. No Japanese martial art with the suffix jutsu belongs in Category:Sport.
Boxing? A sport. La Savate? Not a sport. Lots of martial arts don't have organized competitions. So, not a sport.
I suggest the solution is that the individual martial arts, like judo and boxing, that are sports, should be in Category:Sport, but Category:Martial_arts should not be. What should the parent category for Category:Martial_arts be? I don't know.
