Courland Peninsula

The Courland Peninsula is a peninsula located at the eastern end of the Baltic Sea, in western Latvia.

During World War II a large number of Germans from Army Group North were cut off and trapped there. Hitler forbade retreat or evacuation by sea, and they remained there until the end of the war.
