George S. Patton
George S. Patton was a United States General during World War II. He led troops during the invasion of North Africa and all the way through until the invasion of Germany. He was killed near the end of the war in a car accident.
Patton was controversial for his rough treatment of soldiers. He famously slapped a soldier with shell shock (PTSD).
On the battlefield Patton's forces often made rapid progress but would sometimes incur high casualties.
