Georgia Gold Rush
Gold was discovered in a remote region in Georgia's then remote northwest, triggering the Georgia Gold Rush or 1829.[1] The land prospectors aimed to exploit was the home of the Cherokee Nation, and the Gold Rush was one of the triggers to The Trail of Tears, the worst act of genocide in American history.
