Map of Greenland within the USA, if President Trump's offer to buy it is accepted by Denmark

Greenland is the largest island in the world.[1] It is situated in the North Atlantic, off the coast of Canada. Most of the land in Greenland is unusable, being covered with glaciers.

About 60,000 people live in Greenland. They are citizens of Denmark. Independence has been discussed, but the residents would lose Danish social welfare subsidies and other perks.

Donald Trump and the United States have expressed interest in closer ties with Greenland.[1]
