Imogen Heap
Imogen Heap is a pop singer/songwriter from London, England, born December 9, 1977. At the age of 13, she was writing songs. By the age of 18, she was collaborating with an English band named Acacia. In 1998, Imogen released her first solo album, iMegaphone (the title being a switch-up in the letters of the word "Imogen Heap"). In 2002, Imogen Heap started a band called Frou Frou. They released one album, "Details", thought by some as Imogen's second album; others exclude it as Frou Frou's only album. In 2004, Imogen started work on "Speak For Yourself", which was released in 2005. Her hit song "Hide and Seek" comes from this album. In 2007, Imogen started building her own studio, The Hideaway. She started her two-year work on a new album. Around that time, Imogen's music, especially "Hide and Seek", were being used in episodes of The OC, Saturday Night Live, and movies, such as The Last Kiss. In 2008, Imogen made a "Hide and Seek II" song for a Tibet charity album. In 2009, her new album, "Ellipse", was complete. After that, she started work on touring and subprojects. In 2010, she came up with "Love the Earth", the world's first croud-sourced nature film, with Thomas Ermacora. Thomas and Imogen had a film production company, The Bubbletank, where they worked on this film and others like it. In November 2010, Imogen starred in another straight-to-DVD movie, Everything In Between: The Story of Ellipse, though not produced by Bubbletank. On March 14, 2011, Imogen started Heapsong1 (now known as "Lifeline"), in which Imogen's fans helped her write a song for yet a new album coming up in a couple of years. Fans submitted sounds, word suggestions, images, videos, and solos to go over the song. On March 28, "Lifeline" was released on iTunes and Imogenheap.com for people to buy, but it got leaked onto YouTube that very day. Imogen Heap continues to tour and mix and match as always.
