Iota Draconis

The red giant star Iota Draconis is located 101.2 lightyears from the Solar system in the constellation Draco.[1] The star ran out of Hydrogen, for Hydrogen fusion, left the main sequence, and relies on Helium fusion. Its mass is 1.82 times that of Sol, our sun. It is at least 55 times brighter than Sol, and has 12 times Sol's diameter.

It is the dimmest star that was bright enough for its color to be determined before telescopy was brought to Astronomy.[2]

The star has two known exoplanets, both gas giants, with eccentric orbits.
