Kim Han-sol is the eldest great-grandchild of Kim Il-sung, the founder of the Kim family dynasty, which has ruled North Korea since 1945.[1] His uncle, Kim Jong-un, had his father Kim Jong-nam assassinated, by having pranksters run up to him, and smear his face with VX nerve agent.
Kim said he hadn't met either his uncle, Kim John-un, or grandfather, Kim Jong-il.[1] The BBC reported that he had spent most of his life in China and Macau, although he had studied in Bosnia.
Although he said he would like to see North Korea and South Korea re-united, he is not interested in getting involved in politics.[1]

Kim Han-sol spoke of his dreams of reunification of the two Koreas in an television interview in Bosnia, where he is studying. Kim Han-sol said he had never met his grandfather or uncle.
