Llanboidy
Appearance

Llanboidy is a village in western Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is divided into two parts - Pentre Uchaf and Pentre Isaf. These translate to upper and lower village respectively.
Llanboidy Community Council also includes the village of Llanglydwen, and the Llanboidy ward of Carmarthenshire County Council includes several other villages.[1]
The name Llanboidy comes from Welsh "llan" (church/parish) and "beudy" (cowshed). Llanbeudy remained in rare use as an alternative spelling as late as the 1900s,[2] but today it has long fell out of use.
The church in Llanboidy is dedicated to St Brynach. It was founded in the early 6th century.[3]
