Mirandese language

From Encyc

The Mirandese language is a romance language. It is spoken by a relatively small number of individuals in the northeast corner of Portugal.[1]

As of 2026 less than ten thousand people speak Mirandese.[1] Although its speakers live in Portugal the language is more closely related to the Leonese language, from which it diverged about 800 years ago.
