Noisia
Noisia (also NOISIA, from the word VISION upside down) are a musical group of three people from the Netherlands who produce drum and bass, house music and breakbeat. They cite The Prodigy, James Brown, Miles Davis, Kemal and Rob Data and various other artists as their main influence.
In 2005 they established their own label Vision Recordings to release their drum and bass productions. The biggest releases to date have been The Tide, Exodus (with Mayhem and KRS One) and Stigma. In 2007 they established Division, a label for their electro, breakbeat and house music.
Over the past few years Noisia have been called Best Producers at the Dutch drum and bass Awards in 2006 and 2007. They've been called Best Tech DJ in the British National drum and bass Awards in 2009 and Best drum and bass Artists on Beatport.
The group has worked with some artists which are known at a mainstream level, and remixed a number of their works, with notable tracks including Alice by Moby, Omen by The Prodigy and more recently Foreign Beggars and Amon Tobin.
They have played in major cities all over the world. Their track Groundhog is featured twice on DJ Hero, a videogame, Stigma was used on the game Gran Turismo, and Machine Gun, the first single from the Machine Gun EP, is featured in the game WipeOut.
In 2010 they started a new imprint called Invisible, which will be an outlet for more experimental drum and bass music, produced by themselves and by other artists. They also released their debut album Split The Atom which features a variety of styles, from electro to drum and bass.
