Orc

An Orc is a mythical creature of various origins, including Norse mythology. In the Lord of the Rings books, an Orc was described as being an Elf who was deliberately perverted towards evil. In most fantasy scenarios, Orcs are described as green, human sized, and extremely ugly. They are usually regarded as being related to goblins and trolls and sometimes giants. They are usually described as being man made, or else made from evil in some way. In some fantasy scenarios, Half-Orcs exist, which are a combination of an Orc and a Human. The orc was probably based on homeless people in medieval Europe, who had moved from farming areas to the cities, but could not get a job and were forced to live in abject poverty.
