Giant

From Encyc

A giant is a person who is abnormally tall. The opposite of a giant is a dwarf. Whilst a giant is a real description that can accurately be used to describe a person (generally, people over about 7 feet tall are described as giants), it is also commonly used in mythology of various kinds, and is often links to the Greek mythology of titans being the first versions of the Gods. In mythology, giants are much more than 7 feet tall, and are unhumanly large, sometimes being ten or more times larger than humans. Whilst they do not need to be evil, they are often described as being evil (although Roald Dahl described a Big Friendly Giant in his book "The BFG"). Sometimes giants are described in modern fantasy settings as being related to trolls, orcs and goblins; however sometimes they are described as related to dwarves as well. In most fantasy games, where giants can be chosen as races, giants are abnormally powerful, but are slow moving and generally stupid (although this is probably to make all races balanced rather than as an accurate description of what giants are like).
