Pencader

Pencader is a village in northern Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is part of the parish/community of Llanfihangel-ar-Arth, and has its own church, dedicated to St Mary.[1]
The village has a population of 336 as of 2011.
Pencader is the site of a motte and bailey castle, erected in the 12th century.[2]
Pencader had a railway station on the Carmarthen-Aberystwyth line from 1864 to 1965. There was also a station just to the north at Pencader Junction, open from 1866 to 1880.
Pencader has an amateur soccer team, Pencader United FC, playing in the Ceredigion League.
