A plough (alternatively plow) is a tool, dragged through the surface of soil, to make a furrow. Traditionally ploughs were used by farmers, who planted the seeds for crops, in the furrow.

In modern times ploughs are also used to trenches, for burying pipes, or telecommunication cables.
