River Sawdde

From Encyc
Waterfall on the River Sawdde

The River Sawdde (Afon Sawdde in Welsh) is a river in south Wales.

Its source is at the lake Llyn y Fan Fach, near the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons. It flows past the village of Llanddeusant before joining the River Towy at Llangadog.

The name of the river might come from the Welsh word "sawdd", meaning "sinking", but it could just as easily come from a personal name.
