Rolan Sokolovski faces charges over his alleged association with Ryan Wedding, a convicted drug smuggler, believed to have close ties with cartel leadership.[1][2] Sokolovski is alleged to have used his business, as a jeweller, to launder hundreds of millions of dollars of profits from Wedding's illegal trade in drugs.[3]
United States prosecutors are trying to extradite him, on money laundering charges, and, in January 2026, his lawyers argued he should be released on bail, while he contests those extradition requests.[1][2] His lawyers made the unusual request the court grant anonymity to the individuals who agreed to supervise him, if he was granted bail, arguing their lives would be at risk.
On August 11, 2026, Sokolovski's lawyer announced that he would stop contesting extradition to the USA, and announcing he looked forward to proving his innocence in a US court.[3][4]
Sokolovski laundered some of Wedding's funds by buying him a $13 million Mercedes Benz car.[3][4]
Before he was a jeweller Sokoloski had worked as a professional poker player.[3]
Sokolovski is also alleged to have custom designed jewellry to reward alleged hitman Atna Ohna[3]
Sokolovski is also an alleged "procurer".[2]
