The Wikipedia article on Gleason predates this article. The intellectual content of thearticle I started here was created entirely independently from the Wikipedia article. I did cannibalize some of the references from the Wikipedia version. However, my interpretation of the obligation to honour the intellectual property rights of Wikipedia contributors is that only contributions that merit copyright protection merit attribution. Copying a paragraph, verbatim, requires attribution. Sometimes even a verbatim copy of a single sentence passes de minimis, and requires attribution. But the SCOTUS ruling of Feist v Rural states lists of facts do not qualify for copyright protection. So, cannibalizing references does not trigger a need for attribution.
