  1. The Christian Bible, the Quran, and ancient texts commentators call the Jewish Bible all contain passages modern commentators say refer to "Satan" or "the Devil". But are they interpreting those passages the same way they were interpreted, when they were written? Apparently, none of these Bibles mention Lucifer. I think this means everything people think they know about Lucifer is based on the Bible equivalent of fan fiction.
  2. WRT the devil and Daniel webster... there was a 1937 play, with the title "the devil and Daniel webster". The person who wrote about Webster here is making an in-joke.

I suggest articles should not be based on fan-fiction. Nor should they trick readers with hidden jokes. Geo Swan (talk) 18:11, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Agreed, for a first draft this isn't bad, but that comparative religion articles should probably make clear what is theology and/or folklore or where ideas come from. Here is the Devil and Daniel Webster story. https://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0602901h.html Enki (talk) 01:38, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
