greetings[edit]

Nice place ya got here. Thanks for taking me off moderation. Questingspringbok (talk) 16:59, 26 August 2024 (EDT)

You're welcome. Nice new articles. Welcome to Encyc! Enki (talk) 13:42, 27 August 2024 (EDT)

Hello :)[edit]

Nice to meet you. I like the wiki logo a lot. I was wondering if I could be taken off moderation. LeicesterLass invited me here about a month ago. William Lupinacci (talk) 14:06, 4 September 2024 (EDT)

Welcome to Encyc! I was just thinking it was time to take you off moderation. It's done. Thank you for the compliment about the logo. It is Pancake, one of our mascots. Enki (talk) 14:44, 4 September 2024 (EDT)
Thank you, how do I upload photos? I would make sure they abide by Fair Use, copyright law etc William Lupinacci (talk) 08:49, 6 September 2024 (EDT)
Uploads have been enabled for you. Images policy is at Encyc:Images. Enki (talk) 09:13, 6 September 2024 (EDT)
Thanks William Lupinacci (talk) 11:02, 6 September 2024 (EDT)

Username request[edit]

I'd like to request my username to be "TheSuperbrain"! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 16:54, 17 September 2024 (EDT)

Really? OK. Enki (talk) 18:19, 17 September 2024 (EDT)
I prefer LeicesterLass. Plus, the username looks great in purple. Also use this if you want your username to be a different colour or use a different hex code using a "#"! (Enki (Talk to me!) LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 17:42, 19 September 2024 (EDT)
Done. I never messed with changing my signature before but it does look good in green. Maybe it's time. Enki (talk) 19:55, 19 September 2024 (EDT)
You can even do triple colours! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 20:36, 19 September 2024 (EDT)

Site upgrade[edit]

I know that the "dark mode" feature ain't your thing, but the idea of adding a clock in the top right would be cool as a gadget. Is there a way to enable some cool gadgets and add them in the preferences section? --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 20:55, 19 September 2024 (EDT)

Are you kidding? I love dark mode. Encyc has had dark mode available for many years. We started back when it was just a perennial wish list item on Wikipedia, and we even made it the default for a little while. If you like dark mode, go to preferences and set skin to "Citizen". Then choose the dark setting or follow system preferences if yours are set to dark. I've tried Wikipedia's current experimental dark mode and I think Citizen does a better job for the most part.
The next upgrade should be coming around December 2024, when MediaWiki 1.43 LTS is due for release. Enki (talk) 21:27, 19 September 2024 (EDT)
The Dove Hepburn article needs multiple images. An article isn't complete without images. A picture says a thousand words. For at least each paragraph or section needs an image (from Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons only) left and right with a thumb. Each image at least 150px. Images should be based on battles or sieges from the 11th century to the 21st century. I have also found at least 3000 references that I can add. In the meantime, I'm creating more articles and creating the wiki's catgeories that are red links! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 20:50, 22 September 2024 (EDT)
Images are easy to bring in from Wikipedia Commons. We have Mediawikiwiki:InstantCommons. For an example, check this edit. Enki (talk) 21:31, 22 September 2024 (EDT)
Can you lend a hand? --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 22:25, 22 September 2024 (EDT)

Fun Facts for Encyc (Did You Know)[edit]

Hey Enki! I have numerous of books full of daily facts that you could include to the Main Page. Perhaps add 8 fresh facts per day! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 00:31, 28 September 2024 (EDT)

  • ...that 16 tunnels, many for tube lines, run beneath London's River Thames?
  • ...that the Balkan comic opera Ero the Joker was first performed on November 2, 1935?
  • ...that the Tokyo Monorail, which travels at speeds of up to 80 kph, was constructed to coincide with the 1964 Summer Olympics?
  • ...that jumping plant lice and aphids are considered to be the "primitive" group within the Hemiptera order of true bugs?
  • ...that in 1971, Pakistani writer Eqbal Ahmad was indicted on charges of conspiracy to kidnap Henry Kissinger?
  • ...that the catchphrase "Kowabunga !" was popularized by the NBC program Howdy Doody?
  • ...that in 1916, Berlin, Ontario changed its name to Kitchener due to World War I-era anti-German sentiment?
  • ...that the U.S. Postal Service's POSTNET uses a checksum to verify zip codes?

--LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 00:41, 28 September 2024 (EDT)

It's a cool idea, but wouldn't really drive traffic to our article pages. I don't really have the time to make that many edits to the main page either, to keep it fresh.Enki (talk) 11:13, 28 September 2024 (EDT)
Let's spread the news of Encyc on TikTok! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 19:43, 28 September 2024 (EDT)
haha I don't think my brain could survive TikTok. I already spend too much time on FB/X/Reddit. But if you want to promote Encyc on TikTok, go for it!
And just a reminder if you like X or Reddit stop by our pages.
Enki (talk) 20:36, 29 September 2024 (EDT)

Short description[edit]

Articles need the short description. When you type in the article name in search, it displays the article name and British "quaker" (1823-1877) below. --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 00:06, 11 October 2024 (EDT)

I can install Mediawikiwiki:Extension:ShortDescription. Do you think that this would solve the problem? Enki (talk) 08:14, 11 October 2024 (EDT)
I've heard of that. Go ahead! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 16:58, 11 October 2024 (EDT)
OK it seems to be working.Enki (talk) 19:28, 11 October 2024 (EDT)

Dark mode[edit]

I would prefer dark mode with Vector 2022 look. I really prefer this look. Dark mode would help because I spend too much time on a screen, and dark mode will help my eyesight! On Wikipedia, they have the size of text from small, standard and large. The width as standard and wide, and colour with Automatic, light, and dark! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 10:00, 21 October 2024 (EDT)

I agree dark mode is cool. I was a little disappointed that all the Vector 2022 dark mode options seem to be reserved for MediaWiki 1.43, which is not due for release until December 2024. When it is available, I will do the upgrade. In the short term, if you're logged in you can use the Citizen skin. In some ways it's better than the Vector version of dark mode. Better colors and some cool tricks like quick access to search with a single key press. Have you tried it out? Enki (talk) 10:32, 21 October 2024 (EDT)
Sounds good! I would also love a live clock mode too. With Miraheze Meta, they have all the cool tools! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 12:53, 21 October 2024 (EDT)
I just checked Miraheze Meta and I don't see a dark mode or a live clock. They're also running Version 1.42.3. Do you have a link to what you're interested in? Enki (talk) 13:33, 21 October 2024 (EDT)
I did make a wiki on there and all the features were available! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 17:55, 21 October 2024 (EDT)

Life quote[edit]

"You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. And don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking. Don't settle!"Dame Dove Hepburn (1022–2024) --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 11:33, 25 October 2024 (EDT)

Citizen[edit]

Encyc should have "citizen" as the main skin. It's just looks so cool and it displays your number of edits and has a dark mode too. If only it had a live clock counter with the date, or maybe have a blue colour mode! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 04:42, 27 October 2024 (EDT)

Sure! Yes, I think we tried it years ago but I flipped it back because there didn't seem to be any interest either way. But I'd be willing to return to Citizen, at least until the next big update. On the downside, for people who spend a lot of time going back and forth between here and Wikipedia, it can be a little bit disorienting. But it's better-looking, works better, and has better dark mode. I was just waiting for at least one user to request it.
Another question to think about is the mobile skin. Right now it is set like Wikipedia, using Extension:Mobilefrontend and Skin:MinervaNeue. Citizen's mobile skin is actually pretty good. It does autodetect for dark mode. There were a few bugs when I last tried it but that was years ago, and the main author of Citizen seems to have been continuously active since then.
I tried to find that live clock counter thing you mentioned on Miraheze and couldn't find it. Is there a specific extension you can link to? Enki (talk) 09:37, 27 October 2024 (EDT)
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-UTCLiveClock.js?simple=True or https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CountDownClock --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 16:26, 27 October 2024 (EDT)
I'm considering going back to Vector 2022. Popups and the menu bar are displaying some weird behavior on various-sized screens. I think somehow Citizen got worse than it was a few years ago. Are you seeing the same things? Enki (talk) 14:54, 28 October 2024 (EDT)
On my end? No. It looks perfect for me! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 15:36, 28 October 2024 (EDT)
Citizen was getting on my nerves so I reverted back to Vector-2022. Citizen does this weird thing where it moves your controls depending on size and shape of your screen. It's also clunky on mobile where the nav bar appears and disappears unpredictably. sorry. If you want to use it on desktop, just sign in and pick Citizen skin in your preferences. Enki (talk) 14:45, 2 November 2024 (EDT)
Homie I see what you mean. It does the weird glitch on mobile mode! Also, you prolly wanna see the look of this wiki. It's fire! https://encyclopediarobotica.org/wiki/Main_Page --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 16:55, 2 November 2024 (EDT)

Quote for you[edit]

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become!"Dame Dove Hepburn (1022–2024) --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 12:43, 28 October 2024 (EDT)

Dove Hepburn and 3000 edits![edit]

Hey! I need your help! Can you add information to Hepburn's biography section and refine or improve it. There is a page called Dove Hepburn historic battles and needs to be added there! Need at least 18 images of battles or portraits to each section of the article to the right with a thumbnail. If you want, feel free to refine or improve the entire article. The more information, the better. I don't mind a long article. Hepburn had over 1000 year lifespan, so maybe increase with other topics like her travel ventures like Eisriesenwelt in Austria and her travels around the world. Maybe increase her career section and add more books, movies and TV shows she's been in. Maybe add a theater, radio and video games section (you know like a filmography). So much to add! Make up some more movies or show names and her experience during the production. ChatGPT can really help. I've also done over 3000 edits! If you can do that I will happily make many more articles. I'm also sharing Encyc on TikTok. It's my lifetime mission to help improve and expand Encyc and also become a Goodwill UNICEF ambassador. Never forget me! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 17:03, 31 October 2024 (EDT)

Delete request[edit]

Can you please delete Dove Hepburn Rap Battles and File:Tic Tac Toe vs Hangman.jpeg? --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 20:17, 7 November 2024 (EST)

Page previews[edit]

Is there a way to remove the ( ) from the page previews? I mean the birth date and death date in the preview Dove Hepburn? It's meant to display as Dame Dove Kathleen Hepburn was a British actress, not Dame Dove Kathleen Hepburn (10 January 1900 - 29 March 2024) was a British actress. Wikipedia doesn't show the birth and death date when you hover over an article link and preview the page! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 21:22, 11 November 2024 (EST)

Hmm I don't know. Maybe check Mediawikiwiki:Page Previews and Mediawikiwiki:Extension:TextExtracts and Mediawikiwiki:Extension:Popups Enki (talk) 23:28, 11 November 2024 (EST)

Category error[edit]

The title "Category:Nobel Prize in Literature winners" has been banned from creation. It matches the following disallowed titles list entry: .*bel.* This seems nonsense! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 14:07, 12 November 2024 (EST)

Fixed. Enki (talk) 21:30, 13 November 2024 (EST)

Birth date and age template[edit]

This module has not been installed so the template displays as an error in infoboxes! Can you fix it? --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 22:16, 14 November 2024 (EST)

Modules[edit]

Hi! Templates "Birth date and age" and "Authority control" modules haven't been installed and looks a mess on Dove Hepburn! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 07:21, 18 November 2024 (EST)

I imported them but am still seeing an error on Dove Hepburn. Anything that says "wikibase" and "nil value" is related to templates that call on Wikidata for their data. I don't have that set up for a variety of reasons. I might have written an essay years ago or maybe imagined I did. tl;dr I prefer to have all the info here rather than on a remote database because it reduces barriers to participation. Someone who is not particularly tech-savvy can edit wikitext but they're not going to know how to go to another site for data entry, and I'm not particularly enthused to become dependent on another site for that function anyway. Enki (talk) 16:44, 18 November 2024 (EST)
Whatever just happened, the references look weird now. check here! It displays as

"Lua error in Module:Citation/CS1/Configuration at line 2083: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value).

This might take some time to fix. I have to revert some templates and modules to before the Wikidata nonsense. Enki (talk) 19:32, 18 November 2024 (EST)
I think it's either "cite web" or "cite book"! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 20:25, 18 November 2024 (EST)
It's fixed. Enki (talk) 07:39, 19 November 2024 (EST)
Can we also fix the infobox person and have the same Wikipedia one? I tendly use "Infobox people"! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 20:59, 18 November 2024 (EST)
Maybe later. Enki (talk) 07:39, 19 November 2024 (EST)

Dove Hepburn[edit]

This page is ready to be semi-protected or fully-protected. Any new information I want to add or request will just be references, but that will be between every 1-3 months! References will look like this, example: I will tell you the dates my future rap battles were released and retrieve date would be the same day or today's date Click on the "edit link" and check the ref link code! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 08:23, 25 November 2024 (EST)

Nice work. We'll see if it becomes a target of vandalism but for now there's no reason to protect it. Enki (talk) 09:56, 25 November 2024 (EST)

Fenna Foxtale[edit]

Can my girl and my creation Fenna Foxtale become the third official mascot for Encyc? --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 19:51, 28 November 2024 (EST)

It's a good animation and artwork, but I think we're good with just Pancake and Butterfly for now. Enki (talk) 16:58, 2 December 2024 (EST)

Truepedia, the true encyclopedia[edit]

Hello Enki! Wikipedia can sometimes be unreliable. I thought of a new idea. Can you create a wiki for me called "Truepedia" with MediaWiki and the domain truepedia.org? We can both work on a new wiki together! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 18:41, 1 December 2024 (EST)

.com and .org are taken. You could get truepedia.co but it is not so easy to get volunteers to help build the place. Enki (talk) 19:04, 1 December 2024 (EST)
Could do .co or .info. I'm promoting Truepedia with BBC Radio Leicester, Discord, and TikTok! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 19:29, 1 December 2024 (EST)

Dovepedia[edit]

I'll promote it to TikTok, YouTube and BBC Radio Leicester. I will also DM Wikipedia editors on X (Twitter) to join! Please set it up? I've always dreamed of having my own wiki. Dovepedia is "the free true encyclopedia" and I want you to be a big part of it. It's like Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, but me and you. We are the future of valuable information and knowledge. Also my laptop ain't compatible with downloading MediaWiki. We'll both be bureaucrats. My username will be "LeicesterLass". Just tell me the login password of my account and I can reset it afterwards. Are you ready to turn the page? The link address is: https://dovepedia.org/wiki/Main_Page or with en. if possible! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 14:18, 9 December 2024 (EST)

Sounds fun, but I don't have the time to start another wiki. Maybe you could try setting it up through Miraheze, using their custom domain service. They would handle most of the technical maintenance and you could still use your own domain name. Enki (talk) 09:47, 10 December 2024 (EST)
I'm struggling to set up Dovepedia. I don't like Fandom because it doesn't look like Wikipedia and I tried using Miraheze and ShoutWiki. Miraheze doesn't allow general free wikis and ShoutWiki doesn't create wikis anymore. I don't like EditThis.info because it doesn't upload images and it's not in Vector mode. Can you please set this wiki up for me? Even if you don't want to work on it, I would! I've always wanted my own wiki to work on. I'm jealous of Wikipedia existing and not Truepedia. With MediaWiki and the domain dovepedia.org (domain name is available). And let me know my username and password if any. Thank you! --LeicLass 10:52, 3 June 2025 (EDT)
If you're new to hosting your own website, the easiest way to get started is with shared hosting. The benefits are that the provider takes care of a lot of the technical side of things. The downside is that you share resources with other sites on their service, and depending how scrupulous they are, they might jam your site in with dozens of others and speed will suffer. Popular hosting companies can be found through a google search. Avoid the "one click" installation and install it the way described on MediaWiki.org. You need a plan that gives you cPanel and SSH access. First step is to make sure you register your domain name properly with a domain registrar. Once that is done, you can point it to your hosting provider. Enki (talk) 13:42, 3 June 2025 (EDT)
Didn't you set up Encyc with MediaWiki? Surely you can do the same to Dovepedia, dovepedia.org or what other domain is available. I have to add a Star Wars reference in: "You're my only hope!" Even if you are busy to do it right now, I can be patient. I like surprises. Patience is a virtue! --LeicLass 15:33, 9 June 2025 (EDT)
So you're proposing that I register the domain name dovepedia.org and then pay for hosting on my own? In that case, I might be more Han Solo than Obi-Wan Kenobi. Enki (talk) 16:59, 9 June 2025 (EDT)
No, just the free version. You can download MediaWiki and run it on your own server, which is free as long as you have the necessary hardware and are willing to manage the server yourself. Someone in the past made my own wiki with MediaWiki for free called Plantpedia, but I found that ass deleted it afterwards! --LeicLass 05:51, 10 June 2025 (EDT)
Free hosting providers SkyWiki, Telepedia, Wiki.gg, and WikGrid --LeicLass 06:00, 10 June 2025 (EDT)
Interesting. I've never heard of SkyWiki or WikiGrid. I think a wiki farm is the best way to go for your idea. They handle most of the maintenance. I would check what kind of tech support they offer and what the licensing conditions are, and how much advertising they insert on the pages. Enki (talk) 13:56, 10 June 2025 (EDT)
There is no advertising on the wikis you create. SkyWiki is wiki automatic and WikiGrid is wiki request! --LeicLass 14:35, 10 June 2025 (EDT)

Merry Christmas![edit]

Merry Christmas, Jeff! --LeicesterLass (Talk to me!) 18:34, 24 December 2024 (EST)

Encyc offline[edit]

I was worried for a second. I tried to access Encyc but it said the site refused to connect. Glad it's back! --LeicLass 21:45, 4 January 2025 (EST)

Me too. I restarted Apache and it came right back up. Hopefully won't happen again. Enki (talk) 21:49, 4 January 2025 (EST)

Template:Infobox Person[edit]

Honorific prefix and honorific suffix appears to not show in the infobox on Template:Infobox Person (capitalised Person). Plus the page is protected! --LeicLass 02:08, 6 January 2025 (EST)

I might have done that because the new version depended on Wikidata. I can turn off the protection. We can always revert it if it gets messed up. Enki (talk) 10:24, 6 January 2025 (EST)
I checked into it and it looks like Alexander, one of our other admins, originally protected it. Also, it is used in Les Golden so please make sure any changes do not mess up his page. Enki (talk) 10:26, 6 January 2025 (EST)
It still can't be edited because the protection is cascasding with the Les Golden article! --LeicLass 09:20, 7 January 2025 (EST)
In order not to bother Les, maybe it would be better if we create a new template and call it Template: Infobox person 2 or something similar. Enki (talk) 10:51, 7 January 2025 (EST)

Images[edit]

Can you please delete the following image:

Also, how come the new image version doesn't display when searching them? It displays when you hover over the Dove Hepburn link and in the infobox but not when you search the name in the search box. It just displays the old image. I hope you are having a great day! --LeicLass 05:25, 11 January 2025 (EST)

Done. As for the image version problem in Popups, I imagine it might be a caching issue. It would probably work itself out given more time. Enki (talk) 22:56, 11 January 2025 (EST)

Image upload error[edit]

The title "File:Jeff Bezos vs. Mansa Musa.jpg" has been banned from creation. It matches the following disallowed titles list entry: .*jef.* --LeicLass 03:37, 28 January 2025 (EST)

Fixed. Enki (talk) 09:55, 28 January 2025 (EST)
Hope to have dark mode soon on Vector 2022. Wikipedia does! --LeicLass 16:42, 3 February 2025 (EST)

Another quote[edit]

"Two sides of the same coin. Knowing your projections can help you achieve freedom."Dame Dove Hepburn (1980–2025) LeicLass 18:23, 3 February 2025 (EST)

Visual editor mode[edit]

I would like to request the "visual editor" mode because it is easier to drag and drop references rather than removing the refs and then placing them elsewhere! I also like the new wiki update and the dark mode! --LeicLass 16:44, 15 April 2025 (EDT)

My concerns with Visual Editor are that it could introduce source code that is hard for humans to read, and it could degrade the overall usability of the wiki. Installation and maintenance could also be burdensome. Look at Mediawikiwiki:Extension:VisualEditor. It is 41,000 bytes of mayhem. It appears to depend on Parsoid among other things, and there are many opportunities for something to go wrong. Even if everything runs smoothly now, it could still be a problem at the next update. Enki (talk) 18:44, 19 April 2025 (EDT)

Infobox person[edit]

Can't seem to get rid of the 2=}} from my article. When you add the "Infobox person" template to any page, it displays 2=}} at the top of the page and it's annoying! --LeicLass 16:13, 5 June 2025 (EDT)

Update. I've fixed that issue and used the Infobox person template from another wiki and it then displayed Wikidata image template. Fixed that and that's gone. Fixed the issue! Check my article now. --LeicLass 16:21, 5 June 2025 (EDT)
Thank you! I was trying to fix Karl Marx and couldn't get it quite right. Enki (talk) 08:53, 6 June 2025 (EDT)

New main page[edit]

Like the look of the new Main Page? --LeicLass 11:07, 13 June 2025 (EDT)

Sorry, looks bad on mobile. Designing web pages with giant tables is very old-school. Wikipedia gets away with it because they have a lot of workarounds. Enki (talk) 11:47, 13 June 2025 (EDT)

Spam only account[edit]

Block ths account. Humaarohr is not a real user!--LeicLass 21:40, 24 June 2025 (EDT)

I'll keep working hard to the day I be an admin. It may take years but it'll be worth it. I dedicate my whole life building this encyclopedia with you, and also become a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassasdor, and musician! --LeicLass 21:55, 24 June 2025 (EDT)

Categorisation[edit]

When creating a new page make sure to create the categories. It just makes it easier for me to create the rest of the categories that haven't been created, and won't have to recheck them from A-Z and 0-9. Add this on the category pages:

This category contains project pages which deal with categorisation on Encyc.

Category:Encyc navigation Category:Encyc content administration --LeicLass 22:06, 24 June 2025 (EDT)

I don't think a lot of explanation is needed on category pages. If someone is searching by category, they are probably already familiar with wikis and how categorization works. I do like getting rid of the red link.
Also to avoid spelling wars, I would prefer American/Oxford British -ize. see Encyc:Spelling. Nothing anti-British, I just want to avoid wasting time and energy, and -ize is arguably more British than -ise. Maybe we can make some exceptions for grey and travelling. Adminship[edit]

I'm gonna earn that position. I'm gonna create hundreds of articles. I've been on Encyc since 2021 and have over 20 years experience of editing wikis. We have over 3,589 content pages on Encyc. I'm gonna get this wiki to 100,000 pages first! --LeicLass 13:17, 30 June 2025 (EDT)

I'm glad you're doing so well. Fortunately, the Moderation extension keeps admin work here to almost nothing. But it's good to know you're ready if the need arises. Enki (talk) 14:29, 30 June 2025 (EDT)

Thanks for rights!!![edit]

Thank you Enki!!!! Sandsonthehorizen (talk) 19:11, 30 June 2025 (EDT)

Hey hey![edit]

Happy 4th July Jeff! I'm watching a fireworks live stream on YouTube in 20 minutes! --LeicLass 17:42, 4 July 2025 (EDT)

Thank you. Happy 4th to you too! Enki (talk) 17:47, 4 July 2025 (EDT)

Help![edit]

The references on Dove Hepburn, the dates are not in order. Can you help me? That's why I wanted visual editor because I don't like doing it manually, when you can just drag and drop! --LeicLass 06:18, 6 July 2025 (EDT)

I can check into it for the next update. Enki (talk) 16:07, 6 July 2025 (EDT)

Six months[edit]

Today (July 11) marks six months since Dame Dove Hepburn died. Her music and legacy is still remembered and big today! --LeicLass 00:45, 11 July 2025 (EDT)

Condolences. An interesting life. Enki (talk) 14:09, 13 July 2025 (EDT)

I'm a Shinobi![edit]

I finally managed to complete Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master after years of trying! --LeicLass 09:59, 13 July 2025 (EDT)

On Sega Genesis??? You must have been playing a really long time! --Enki (talk) 19:10, 13 July 2025 (EDT)
On PlayStation 3. You should play it. It's a really good game! --LeicLass 03:52, 14 July 2025 (EDT)

Author protect[edit]

Is there a way to author protect a page? I know there is an option on some wikis! --LeicLass 10:59, 18 July 2025 (EDT)

Probably. But we should try talking first. Enki (talk) 11:56, 18 July 2025 (EDT)
About what exactly? --LeicLass 13:04, 18 July 2025 (EDT)
About how the articles we work on are important to us and that there is plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing. tl;dr a friendly "stay in your own lane" message. Enki (talk) 08:52, 19 July 2025 (EDT)

Dove Hepburn[edit]

Is not a fake I looked it up Sandsonthehorizen (talk) 14:41, 20 July 2025 (EDT)

I don't care if it's a mascot dove Hepburn is real. Please consider something for Leicester lass. Thank you. Sandsonthehorizen (talk) 14:43, 20 July 2025 (EDT)

Ok. I think it would be best if we all just supported each other even if we’re not sure about what they’re working on. Especially in the middle of the summer it should be a happy time. Enki (talk) 14:51, 20 July 2025 (EDT)

Can you turn on author protect? I'd like to protect Audrey Hepburn, Fenna Foxtale, and Dove Hepburn. This user is a vandal! --LeicLass 02:46, 21 July 2025 (EDT)

Admin[edit]

I think it's the perfect time to pledge for admin now. This user has constantly been adding the deletion tag on my Dove Hepburn page and it's getting annoying. Either admin or author page protection. I have been here since 2021. Either way, I promise to use the tools responsibly. --LeicLass 17:15, 21 July 2025 (EDT)

RIP Ozzy Osbourne[edit]

Music legend Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76. --LeicLass 17:39, 22 July 2025 (EDT)

He was a great musician. One of the best. His reality show with his wife was good too. Enki (talk) 17:42, 22 July 2025 (EDT)

RIP Hulk Hogan[edit]

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died aged 71 from cardiac arrest. --LeicLass 14:35, 24 July 2025 (EDT)

Sandsonthehorizen[edit]

Please block this user. This user keeps on adding a deletion tag to Dove Hepburn and it's getting annoying. I have my own wiki to manage as well as this and I can't keep on patrolling to see if this vandal is messing up my work. Can you please enable the author protection tool please? --LeicLass 21:32, 1 August 2025 (EDT)

Dovepedia help[edit]

I seem some help on Dovepedia. I tried to create the modules "Documentation/styles.css" and "Message box/ambox.css". When I import them:

There is an error saying: Import failed: The content model 'sanitized-css' is not registered on this wiki. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Content_handlers to find out which extensions handle this content model.

When I create the module manually it says: RED SIGN Lua error at line 1: unexpected symbol near '/'. --LeicLass 23:11, 8 August 2025 (EDT)

I've never run into that before. You could try asking at Mediawikiwiki:Project:Support desk. They are really good. Enki (talk) 23:27, 8 August 2025 (EDT)

Encyc update[edit]

Still need the visual editor and when I edit with the source mode there is no toolbox (bold, italic, and underline). Also we need the purge button to refresh a page. --LeicLass 01:51, 16 August 2025 (EDT)

Refreshing is Fn-F5 or simply F5, depending on your browser. Italics is , Bold is '.
Everything like toolboxes and such requires maintenance and makes the source code harder to read. Wikipedia had the most participation before Visual editor became adopted, and still most editors prefer the source code editor. Enki (talk) 09:11, 16 August 2025 (EDT)
