Usk

Usk (Brynbuga in Welsh) is a town on the River Usk in central Monmouthshire. As of 2021 it has a population of about 2,600.

The Roman fortress of Burrium was at the location of the town.

Usk grew as a small market town. In 1841–42 a prison was built, it still stands today as HM Prison Usk.

Llanbadoc is opposite Usk over the river.
