The V-2 was a the first ballistic missile to leave the atmosphere. It was developed by Nazi Germany, during World War 2.
The V-2's engines required two tanks, one for kerosene, and one for liquid Oxygen
The V-2 were unmanned weapons. Their guidance systems were primitive.
The "V" in the name of the V-1 and V-2 stood for "vengeance". . The Germans launched over 3,000 of them.
