VisualEditor

From Encyc

VisualEditor is a tool for MediaWiki that allows users to edit pages without having to know any wiki markup. It is currently live on Wikipedia and within the next few months is planned to be rolled out on the other Wikimedia Foundation wikis. The "edit" tab now leads to the VisualEditor, and there is an "edit source" tab that leads to the old source code window. It does not work on Internet Explorer.

The introduction of VisualEditor has been controversial because it is still very buggy, and because there is no way to turn it off for users who prefer the old editor.

It can be used on the latest version of MediaWiki on any site, but requires a VisualEditor extension and also a thing called Parsoid.
