Vivomancer

From Encyc

Science Fiction author Gene Wolfe coined the terms vivomancer and vivomancy in his novel Sword of the Lictor.

The term is related to the ancient word necromancer and necromancy. Mystics, in ancient times, believed there were supernatural ways a living person could exploit the personalities of dead people. Originally necromancers called upon the dead for divination. Later mystics believed there were supernatural ways to bring the dead back to life.

In the novel the protagonis is told:

Do you kbnow that there are vivomancers among the dead, who call to them those who can make them live again?
