Volgoneft tanker fleet

Russian shipping line Volgotanker operates the Volgoneft tanker fleet, an aging fleet of small tankers, designed for use on the Russian canal network, most of which were built by the Soviet Union, during the 1970s.

These vessels are old. In December 2024 maintenance issues were highlighted when three vessels, the Volgoneft 109, the Volgoneft 212, and , the Volgoneft 239, sank in the Sea of Azov, or the Kerch Strait.[1][2][3]

  • Most vessels in the fleet sail without an IMO number, because they don't operate internationally.[7][8] The Volgoneft 108 does have an IMO.
